PLEASE PRAY FOR MY SISTER!
To all my Facebook friends; relatives, kumpares, kumares, bike buddies, classmates, officemates, Audiophil buddies, fellow engineers, bandmates, YouTube subscribers, fellow YouTubers, fellow musicians, fellow bloggers, Philmusic buddies and Josie’s loyal friends.
I am writing you this letter to ask your help in offering prayers for my dear sister Josephine Duremdes. She has been in the ICU section of the Lung Center of the Philippines for three weeks now because of lung illness called Bronchiectasis which unfortunately has no cure but could have been manageable according to her doctors. This illness has been with her for about ten years now or maybe even more. All these years she was able to manage this illness and was able to live quite a normal life. She had been an OFW in Hong Kong for 28 years as DH. As one of the bread winners of the family, she remained single and devoted her whole life in providing for the needs of our Tatay and Nanay.
But two years ago, a tragedy has struck our family. Lito, my younger brother and also a devoted provider for the family died of lung cancer. This has hit Josie the most. Since then, she has been in and out of the hospital and was not able to fully recover. This was even aggravated by anxiety and depression that forced her to retire and go back home for good earlier than what she had planned.
Few days ago, I posted her cover video of the song You Needed Me. I tried monetizing it and to my surprise, YouTube and Facebook didn’t raise any concerns regarding copyright issues.
I am now requesting all of you to express your prayers by LIKING and SHARING this video both at YouTube and Facebook (I may be asking for too much but please Like and Share, instead of just Liking it). Personal messages, quotations, prayers, motivational words, words of encouragement or Bible verses that will be posted through the comment section will be highly appreciated.
I have no idea how far this could bring us financially, but I am quite certain that our combined prayers could open up the Gates of Heaven to shower her with God’s mercy which will pave the way for her quick recovery.
I have been contemplating on the appropriateness of this action since I posted her video because other people may find it insensitive, unnecessary or inappropriate. Others may even find it disturbing.
To them, I would like to extend my sincere apology for the inconveniences that this action may bring to their lives.
I would also like to express my warmest gratitude to those who will give their full support to this request.
Finally, on behalf of my family, I would like to send our heartfelt thanks to those who have sent their financial assistance and unceasing prayers for Josie’s recovery since the very first day of her admittance to the hospital.
For quite a while, I may have been falling short of what is expected from me as a member, buddy, mate or associate for whatever type of discipline or interest we are affiliated with. But I’ll be back to join the fun as soon as these trials change for the better.
Miss you guys!
“But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles,;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
